Motorhome Rental Agreement

Rental Terms and Conditions
A deposit of $750.00 is required at time of reservation. This amount is refunded when the vehicle and equipment is returned clean, undamaged, complete with all accessories.

Cancellation: Deposit of $750.00 is non-refundable when the booking is cancelled and no other booking is secured. A $75 cancellation fee will be retained. Deposits may be held for up to 7 days after return of the motorhome to allow for a proper post trip inspection to be carried out. If damage is found after return & before the following rental, Summit Okanagan RV Motorhome Rental, reserves the right to bill for damages appropriately. A $75 fee will be charged for damages requiring 3rd party repair.

Rental charges are based on the number of nights the vehicle is used. Each night constitutes a day of charge regardless of the time the vehicle was picked up. Vehicle pickup time is 1:00 P.M. and must be returned by 11:00 A.M. on the last day. There are no refunds for late pickup or early drop off. Late drop off charges apply at $30.00 an hour. There are no refunds given on the unused portion of prepaid mileage.

Payments: Payment in full must be received 14 days before vehicle departure. Payments are to be made by CASH, CERTIFIED CHEQUE, BANK DRAFT drawn on a Canadian Bank or by DIRECT BANK DEPOSIT to a Bank designated by the lessor, Summit Okanagan RV Motorhome Rental.

Insurance: The vehicle is insured for $5,000,000.00 liability. The lessee must have current Roadstar or Roadside Plus coverage or purchase a rental vehicle policy (for motorhomes) thru ICBC for each and any partial day they will be driving the vehicle. In the event of damage by collision the lessee shall be responsible to the lessor for damages and deductible not covered by the ICBC insurance. The lessee is still responsible for damage to the roof, awning, undercarriage and interior when not caused by a motor vehicle accident. All glass damages are subject to the insurance deductible. DO NOT use awning in windy conditions.

The lessee is responsible for maintaining tire pressure, engine oil, fluids and coolant levels. Lessees may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in operation and/or normal maintenance. Clients are authorized to proceed with necessary repairs up to $100.00 and should call the lessor for approval of any repairs exceeding $100.00. Authorized repairs will be reimbursed, at return of vehicle, upon presentation of receipts and any replaced parts. Please report any mechanical failures immediately to lessor. In the event the vehicle is involved in an accident or has mechanical failure, it is the responsibility of the lessee to return the vehicle to a place designated by the lessor.

Off-road driving is prohibited. Evidence of off-road travel (i.e. damage to tires from shot rock road) will result in tire replacement at the cost of the lessee (approx. $1500.00). The lessee is responsible for all tire damages. Travel during winter or freezing conditions requires the lessee to take extra precautions with fluids. The lessee is responsible for any damage incurred during winter/driving, i.e. Windshield rock chips/cracks, frozen pipes; and any other road damage caused by winter travel. Towing, roof storage and sitting or standing is not allowed at any time.

Restricted Travel Areas: include gravel, and dirt or non-public roads. The vehicle is prohibited from traveling to Mexico, Quebec, and New York City. Travel to Death Valley, California or Apache Trail, Arizona during mid and high seasons is not permitted due to extreme high temperatures, which cause system failure. Travel to Alaska, Yukon and the Northwest Territories is also restricted but maybe requested in advance, and if approved by the lessor, will be subject to a $500.00 surcharge.
The lessor, assumes no responsibility for mechanical repairs or expenses if the vehicle is traveling in a travel restricted area. Lessees assume all responsibility for any expenses or loss of time while traveling in restricted areas.

The vehicle is supplied with full tanks of gas and propane. Upon return of the vehicle both gas and propane tanks must be full. All gasoline and propane refueling during the rental is at the lessee's expense. Upon return of the vehicle the holding tanks should be emptied and rinsed. The vehicle exterior washed if noticeably dirty. The interior vacuumed and completely cleaned. Failure to empty tanks and clean the vehicle will result in a $100.00 charge.

All drivers must be at least 25 years of age and possess a valid drivers license. Only drivers signed and listed on the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle. The number of passengers cannot exceed the number of seat belts. Passengers must be seated with their seat belts on while the vehicle is driving. Lessee agrees not to use, or permit the use, of the vehicle for an unlawful purpose: to drive in a careless or negligent manner, nor drive while under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.

Lessee expressly agrees to indemnify and hold lessor harmless of, from, and against any and all loss, costs, damages, attorneys fees and/or liability in connection with the enforcing of this contract by lessor, including expenses incurred in collecting or attempting to collect delinquent rent, and in the event suit is instituted by lessor to recover possession of said vehicle and/or to enforce any of the terms, conditions, and/or fees of lessor incurred in connection therewith. The lessee agrees that the lessor may enter upon the lessee's premises for the purpose of recovering possession of the said
vehicle and no action shall be maintained for trespass or otherwise.

Lessee acknowledges his/her responsibility and will hold the lessor harmless from any and all fines, forfeitures and penalties arising out of any violation of law: that the lessor shall not be held liable for damages, inconvenience, or time lost caused by accident breakdown or malfunction of the vehicle. The lessor is not responsible for damage or loss occurring to any of the lessee's personal property while in, or on the rented vehicle. Lessee further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the lessor from, and against any and all claims for loss of, or damage to property or injury to persons, including death, resulting through the use, operation, or possession of the vehicle.

If the vehicle is stolen, the lessee shall notify local police immediately, and notify the lessor. The lessee assumes the burden of firmly establishing its loss and to return the vehicle keys to the lessor. If the vehicle is not returned upon request of the lessor, it will be considered theft and the rental agreement will be terminated.

The lessee acknowledges he/she has carefully examined the vehicle and finds it suitable for the purpose for which it is leased. The lessee understands all operations of the vehicle.

All units are Non Smoking. Pets are not allowed.

The lessee has read, understands, and agrees to all the conditions of this contract.
